Callen-Lorde Community Health Center provides sensitive, quality health care and related services primarily to New York’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities — in all their diversity — regardless of ability to pay. To further this mission, Callen-Lorde promotes health education and wellness and advocates for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender health issues.
Position Summary
The Oral Health Clinic at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center is looking for a dynamic Dental Hygienist who is great with patients. The Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing preventive dental services to patients and is expected to provide care in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner, maintaining a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and functioning as part of a care-giving team. The Dental Hygienist operates under Callen-Lorde’s protocols and under the supervision of the Dental Director.
Work Schedule/Salary/Benefits
This position is part time and on Saturdays only. Salary will depend on experience.
Qualifications
Current NYS required licensure/certification/registration.
CPR certification.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a dental hygienist.
Ability to work in a high-volume clinic.
Ability to work within a team-based structure.
Strong computer competency.
Experience serving Callen-Lorde’s target populations preferred and/or a strong commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde.
